Submission Guidelines


Types of presentation:


1)      ORAL PAPER: Papers are formal presentations on a topic related to the theme or one of the subthemes of the conference by one or more authors within a thirty-minute period, including 20 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q & As.

2)      POSTER: Poster presentations are intended for face-to-face discussions of research. Posters are especially effective for information that can be presented visually (e.g., charts, graphs, tables, diagrams). There are poster presentation slots in the conference schedule when presenters are encouraged to be present, staying at their poster board to discuss their posters within the allocated time. Each poster session will be 30 minutes in length.

3)      WORKSHOP (Professional Development Course): Workshops are either half a day or a full day in duration and typically involve a hands-on session, participants have the opportunity to become familiar with the latest developments in relevant topic areas in language teaching and learning. In workshops, as a professional development activity, the presenter(s) and participants tackle a problem or develop specific teaching or research techniques in an interactive manner. Workshops are scheduled on 21st November, 2017 (30th Aban, 1396).


Abstract Format

1.      The title of the abstract should have the word limit of 12 words.

2.      Please be sure that abstracts for oral and poster presentations are between 200 to maximum 250 words in English. You can type your abstract directly onto the online form or paste a previously edited text.

3.      For workshop submissions, besides the short abstract of around 200 words, it is required to attach a longer abstract/proposal of 450 to maximum 500 words clearly stating the session goals, synopsis of the theoretical framework, and description of workshop tasks and procedure.  

4.      You should provide 3 to 5 keywords including one the conference subthemes that will also help us place your abstract into the appropriate category.

5.      Presenters should send a 50-word biodata together with their abstract(s) for each author and co-author(s) separately.

6.      All submissions should conform to the requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) (6th Ed.)   



1.      All submissions must represent original and unpublished work.

2.      Every individual is allowed to submit a maximum of three abstracts with only two abstracts as the first author.

3.      First authors are expected to present the research bearing their name, but all authors are encouraged to share in the presentation of co-authored research.

4.      The author(s) of the accepted abstracts are required to be the active members of TELLSI. If you are not or if you need to renew your membership, click here to register/renew membership and receive membership number.

How to submit?

1.      Paper/poster abstracts and workshop proposals should be submitted online using conference webform.

2.       To submit, you need to simply register first by clicking on “Register” button right on the bottom left side of the conference homepage. Then, fill up the form and click register at the button of the form. You receive an email confirming your registration.

3.      After submitting your registration form, you need to go back to the conference homepage again and use the username/password you ed in the registration process to login to your personal page. Then, on the conference submission webform, you can begin the submission procedure. upon submission, you receive an email notifying your submission. 

4.      As part of the submission procedure, you need to upload an anonymous abstract (in pdf format), a named abstract (in MsWord format), and a biodata (in MsWord format).  

5.      You can use “login” button any time you like to check the status of your submitted abstract(s).

6.      The system does not allow for new submissions or changes to previous submissions after the deadline date and time.


The submission starts on June 22 (Tir 1, 1396) and ends on August 6, 2017 (Mordad 15, 1396). You will be notified of the outcome of the review process on the last week of September, 2017.
